The Requirement
Rainbow Heat and Power were briefed to design, supply, install, commission and maintain a highly efficient and fully automated system.
The system would be required to heat the main farm house, which includes an attached holiday let, 4 detached holiday cottages and grain dryer via a district heating system. The system is to be run on wood chip or pellets.
The fuel store is to be placed in a newly constructed barn.
Complete Biomass Heating Package
Rainbow Heat and Power designed, supplied, installed and commissioned a 150kW Lindner & Sommerauer Wood Pellet Biomass Boilers system.
This was a turnkey project with Rainbow Heat and Power overseeing the whole project. The district heating system used 156 metres of underground insulated pipe and includes a 4000 litre Thermal Store.
For automated fuel delivery to the boiler a 5m agitator was fitted.
Financial Benefit
As well as delivering fuel cost savings of 50-80% the installation will be accredited to the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), receiving payments for the next 20 years.
