Domestic RHI Tariff to Degress by 10% 1st Jan 2015

1 December 2014

Further to Friday’s news item regarding the Commercial RHI only to degress by 10% on January 1st, we have also been advised by DECC and the REA that the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive tariff for biomass will also only be degressed by 10%

This is great news as we had been expecting a 20% tariff degression!

The new rates, effective January 1st 2015, for domestic biomass boilers will be;

  Existing tariff New tariff for installations accredited on or after 1 January 2015
Biomass tariff 12.2p/Kwh 10.98p/Kwh

The regulations can be found here and the degression data here.

To give you a good idea of what your predicted payback might be, we have revised our Domestic RHI worked examples. See what your payback might be from 20-45kW and what your fuel cost saving versus Mains Gas, LPG, Heating Oil and Electricity might be.
