Establishment 1991

Sommerauer - a family company with over 30 years of experience, founded under the company name"SL-Technik GmbH". Based in Upper Austria, the European centre of excellence for wood heating systems, and are one of Europe’s leading biomass boiler manufacturers. Initially established to create custom-made construction and combustion equipment, before quickly moving into the biomkass heating market. Right from the start, the company attached great importance to the development and integration of environmentally friendly technologies. Now there are tens of thousands of satisfied existing customers around the world with complete trust in their systems and service offered by Sommerauer. 

2013

Rainbow Heat & Power are awarded the exclusive UK distribution for Sommerauer biomass boilers. After extensive testing of the boilers and thorough installer training, Rainbow Heart & Power began installing the Sommerauer range in the UK during the 2013 heating season.

Technical Excellence

Over 30 years’ experience has enabled Lindner & Sommerauer to develop some of the most advanced wood chip and wood pellet biomass boiler heating systems on the market, winning multiple awards along the way. In 2016 the new generation of the family run business took over, with numerous awards coming soon after that includes; Austria Environmental Label 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, the Plus X Award 2020 for the ECOS (the latest system from Sommerauer and for the first time worldwide with 7 seals of approval), 2018, 2017, 2016, and the special awards for the ECOS as Best Product of 2020.

The ECOS system has been nominated for the world's largest environmental award, the Energy Globe 2020. With efficiencies of up to 98% (70 kW conventional nominal load, Pellets) and up to 110.4% (70 kW condensing nominal load, wood chips) the ECOS was able to set a total of 9 efficiency world records. These efficiency world records were confirmed by boiler test measurement results and market research reports by TÜV SÜD. This has also been confirmed via an officially registered Guinness World Record.
